The Teachers
Our head teachers are all certified with their master’s degree in early childhood education. The assistant teachers have backgrounds in early childhood education; some are certified or working towards their certification. All staff is CPR and First aid certified.
Licensing
The Little Playhouse is fully licensed by the New York State office of Child and Family Services.
Parent Participation
Parent involvement is key in developing a strong family-school community. We have several class functions throughout the year for families to bond with their child and classmates. We also invite parents to do a special project with their child’s class. Whether it’s reading a book, art, cooking or sharing a special family tradition with the class.
Food
The school provides morning snacks. Children can store food or bring their lunch, which can be heated through. Food may be kept at the facility in the cabinet, refrigerator and freezer. There is an optional catered meal plan which is $6.00 per day .Fridays are pizza day. You send in $3.00 and your child can enjoy these lunches.
Daily Schedule
A typical day is composed of a daily schedule that allows for generous blocks of work time, gross motor play, specialty periods, and outdoor play and exploration. There is flexibility in the schedule so that the curriculum can remain responsive to the interests of the children.

11:45-12:00: Meeting/ Dismissal
12:00-12:30: Lunch
12:30-1:15: Free Play/ Rest/ Nap Time
1:15-1:30: Group Games/ Dismissal
1:30-1:45: Afternoon Meeting/Language Arts
1:45-2:30: Outdoor play /Exploration
2:30-2:45: Snack
3:00: Meeting / Dismissal
3:00-6:00: After-care
